Gerber Heritage

Nestlé and Gerber have long, rich histories of supporting the healthy growth and development of infants and toddlers.

In 1867 a pharmacist named Henri Nestlé was asked to look in on a neighbor’s child who couldn’t breastfeed. The baby thrived on the special mixture Henri created. Soon Nestlé’s innovation—the world’s first infant food—was being sold throughout Europe, and the first infant food company, Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé, was launched.
Gerber Products Company also began with attention to one baby. Following the advice of their pediatrician in the summer of 1927, Daniel and Dorothy Gerber started straining solid foods in their kitchen for their 7-month-old daughter Sally. Eventually, Daniel and Dorothy decided to strain fruits and vegetables at their canning business, based in Fremont, Michigan. Workers in the plant requested samples for their own babies, and the legacy of GERBER® baby foods began.

Committed to healthy babies from the beginning

Our company timeline shows our innovation in nutrition, safety, quality, and health, and illustrates our commitment to providing the best products for your child:

Gerber Timeline

2009

Releases the findings from the Feeding Infants and Toddlers Study (FITS) 2008, a follow-up study from FITS 2002. FITS 2008 evaluated the eating patterns and nutrient intakes of 3,378 children—from newborns to 4-year-olds.

Getting Some Answers

Nestlé and Gerber have committed to improving baby and child nutrition through innovation, backed by solid research. One of the most notable efforts was the Gerber-sponsored Feeding Infants and Toddlers Study (FITS) conducted in 2002. This dietary survey of approximately 3,000 infants and toddlers 4 to 24 months old—the first undertaking of its size—significantly increased the knowledge and understanding of how young children were really eating.
The results of the FITS study brought to light some key issues—notably that many toddlers failed to get adequate amounts of several important nutrients, including vitamin E, calcium, iron, potassium, and dietary fiber. In addition, it revealed that many toddlers weren’t eating a single fruit or vegetable serving on a given day.
Nestlé conducted a follow-up FITS study in 2008 of 3,378 children, expanding the age range for infants and toddlers from birth to 48 months. Compared with 2002, the 2008 study showed that infants are being breastfed longer and fewer children are consuming sweets and sweetened beverages on a given day. However, there’s still room for improvement in the diets of many toddlers and preschoolers. Many of their diets contain too much saturated fat and sodium, and need more fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats. Learn more about the results of the latest study.

Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Origins

With the research from the 2002 FITS study, Gerber developed a program to help children start and stay healthy. When Gerber joined the Nestlé family in 2007, the Start Healthy, Stay Healthy Nutrition System was created to take advantage of the combined research, knowledge, and expertise of both companies. The Start Healthy, Stay Healthy Nutrition System is an innovative approach which helps you choose the right nutrition for your child based on his stage of development. Only Gerber offers a unique stage-based system with products, and feeding and nutrition guidance to support healthy growth and development and encourage healthy eating for your child from birth to 4 years.

Sumerian Lexicon 1

I know how hard it is to find these words. There's no translation for you at Babelfish, either. Trust me, I've wanted this language used in the site or at least in a Sumerian to English Dictionary like they have for just about every other language. Not sure if they have it for gaalic though, although i will be putting some out there in the future, my readers.

I began to research the Sumerian *it was really hard to take out the second M there for a while in the beginning* after watching the movie The Fourth Kind with my husband. It scared me. It intrigued me. It made me sad for Abbey Tyler and her clients and how her son treated her the way he did after what happened to his father and saddened about what her daughter went through becomig blind after her husband... watch the movie to know what i'm talkinng about. Poor Abbey. I swear...what a strong woman to continue on.

Each word and its explanation is seperated by black and red checkered list. Enjoy. Have fun. And don't tear your hair out with the pronounciation.

Bullying 2

Students don't often speak up because they do not expect those in authorative postitions to do anything (let alone get them some help) about the problem(s). Even teachers bully their students and/or make fun of them or call them stupid (like my math teacher Mrs. Goldstien) for not getting what other students in the class get and are surpassing the other student(s). Just because the teacher and a few students get it, doesn't mean everyone else gets it too. WAKE UP!

Mexicans get made fun of being 'illegal' or thought of being in a gang. Blacks get considered gang members also and drug dealers or thugs. The strange or darkly attired get called occoltists, animal sacrificers, deviil worshipers (there's a difference between Satanists and being Satanic) or they are called outcasts or loners (only because you think they are or you do not see them among friends at scool or on the outs of school. SpEd students are Special Educations particapants who take extra study halls/special math etc. People call them retards/dorks/losers or consider them too smart to ever be cool. Guess who makes that ipod or cell phone or computer you are all over?... The poor get made fun of for their lack in designer brand clothes or objects. They get called scumbags, too. A real scumbag is the one who bullies others or is a horrid person on the inside while maybe being beautiful or handsome on the outside. How you treat others determines you to be this. Some call the poor incestial or incest babies. Get real. Not everyone marries or sleeps with their cousins or brothers and sisters to keep the bloodline 'clean' like your precious Egyptian royalties back in the day or your Greek and Roman rulers and those English, ya know.

Don't believe me? Read the(real) history books.

A student shouldn't have to end their life to end the pain. Take action! Save a child. Save a friend. They'll thank you later.

Does your boss and/or co-workers herass you to no end? Is it making fun of you behind your back or to your face or is it in front of others-including personal visitors? Is it sexual bullying? Doees your boss and/or co-workers hit on you or make suggestive or lewd comments? Do you ignore them or are you the one who sleeps with in order to keep your job? You shouldn't have to do that. Do you lose rightful promotions for your lack of sex or for being who you are without the sex?

STOP!

Those are wrong things for your bosss and/or co-workers to do to you. A position t work is NOT deserved by sex, sexuality, gender, background, etc. It's earned through hard work and smarts. How many jobs have/do you have where you're in the grind just to have a place to come home to or food that doesn't come from the garbage? You don't have to like your job or co workers but you dont have to take being bullied either. If it's co-workers, go to the boss. If it's the boss, go higher up (Or the BetterBusinessBeurue).

Ever hear the phrase they bully you because they want to be your friend? It may sound lame, but sometimes it's true.

You shouldn't be bullied by your friends either. Did you ever think or wonder if your jokes or teasing effects people around you? Too much could send someone over the edge, even if you didn't mean it or didn't realize you do it to that extent. Maybe you can't stop yourself. Maybe youu don't know that it hurts them.

You have no idea how an appology feels until one is given to you that you really need. Even bullies have feelings.

Why should Husbands have the SAY?

1. In Maryland, a woman cannot go through her husband’s pockets while he is sleeping. Not even if she really wants a piece of gum.
2. In Vermont, a woman must obtain written permission from her husband if she wishes to wear false teeth. Because women really lead with their teeth in wanton, uncontrolled sexuality.
3. In Tucson, Arizona, women are not allowed to wear pants.
4. In Carrizozo, New Mexico, it is illegal for a woman to appear unshaven in public.
5. In Dyersburg, Tennessee, it is illegal for a woman to call a man on a date.
6. In Carmel, New York, women may not wear high heels within the city limits. They are obviously just protecting their citizens, as this move effectively disqualifies the city from ever letting a “Sex and the City” sequel to be shot in their town.
7. In Michigan, a woman isn’t allowed to cut her hair without her husband’s permission

if anyone shall happen upon the rest of the half of these laws to justify them, email me asap. id like to complete the laws. email them to malicemarikia7@gmail.com labeled STUPID LAWS.

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

When everything seems to be coming your way, maybe you're in the wrong lane.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So - if you give her any crap, you will receive a ton of shit.

Guess What!
