Teenage fantasies of revenge on the revolting, snobby ‘Heathers’ and the macho jocks are cranked up to murderous heights when mean‘n’moody crackpot JD (Christian Slater) moves into the high school of Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder).
This superb black comedy would have been even blacker had the original ending been kept.
Set in ‘Sherwood, Ohio’, ‘Westerburg High’ is a conflation of several schools, but the main location was the old Corvalis High School, Studio City in the San Fernando Valley. The school closed in 1987, and it's now Osaka Sangyo University of Los Angeles, 3921 Laurel Canyon Boulevard at Maxwellton Road about half a mile from Ventura Boulevard.
The funerals of the victims (“I love my dead, gay son...”) are held at the Church of the Angels, 1100 Avenue 64 in Pasadena. A screen veteran, the church was the site of the wedding of Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy in 2003 comedy Just Married, and has appeared in countless TV shows.

The explosive ending takes place on the steps of the auditorium at John Adams Middle School, 2425 16th Street, Santa Monica.
The name ‘Westerburg’ is a nod to Paul Westerburg, lead singer of Winona Ryder’s fave band of the time, The Replacements.
The opening croquet match was filmed in the statue garden of the Huntington Library and Gardens, 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, east of Pasadena. The house and grounds have been seen in plenty of other movies, including Indecent Proposal, American Wedding, Memoirs of a Geisha and Serenity.
The jocks’ ‘cow pushing’ takes place in a quiet corner of Griffith Park, Los Angeles.

Bullying 2

Students don't often speak up because they do not expect those in authorative postitions to do anything (let alone get them some help) about the problem(s). Even teachers bully their students and/or make fun of them or call them stupid (like my math teacher Mrs. Goldstien) for not getting what other students in the class get and are surpassing the other student(s). Just because the teacher and a few students get it, doesn't mean everyone else gets it too. WAKE UP!

Mexicans get made fun of being 'illegal' or thought of being in a gang. Blacks get considered gang members also and drug dealers or thugs. The strange or darkly attired get called occoltists, animal sacrificers, deviil worshipers (there's a difference between Satanists and being Satanic) or they are called outcasts or loners (only because you think they are or you do not see them among friends at scool or on the outs of school. SpEd students are Special Educations particapants who take extra study halls/special math etc. People call them retards/dorks/losers or consider them too smart to ever be cool. Guess who makes that ipod or cell phone or computer you are all over?... The poor get made fun of for their lack in designer brand clothes or objects. They get called scumbags, too. A real scumbag is the one who bullies others or is a horrid person on the inside while maybe being beautiful or handsome on the outside. How you treat others determines you to be this. Some call the poor incestial or incest babies. Get real. Not everyone marries or sleeps with their cousins or brothers and sisters to keep the bloodline 'clean' like your precious Egyptian royalties back in the day or your Greek and Roman rulers and those English, ya know.

A student shouldn't have to end their life to end the pain. Take action! Save a child. Save a friend. They'll thank you later.

Does your boss and/or co-workers herass you to no end? Is it making fun of you behind your back or to your face or is it in front of others-including personal visitors? Is it sexual bullying? Doees your boss and/or co-workers hit on you or make suggestive or lewd comments? Do you ignore them or are you the one who sleeps with in order to keep your job? You shouldn't have to do that. Do you lose rightful promotions for your lack of sex or for being who you are without the sex?

STOP!

Those are wrong things for your bosss and/or co-workers to do to you. A position t work is NOT deserved by sex, sexuality, gender, background, etc. It's earned through hard work and smarts. How many jobs have/do you have where you're in the grind just to have a place to come home to or food that doesn't come from the garbage? You don't have to like your job or co workers but you dont have to take being bullied either. If it's co-workers, go to the boss. If it's the boss, go higher up (Or the BetterBusinessBeurue).

Ever hear the phrase they bully you because they want to be your friend? It may sound lame, but sometimes it's true.

You shouldn't be bullied by your friends either. Did you ever think or wonder if your jokes or teasing effects people around you? Too much could send someone over the edge, even if you didn't mean it or didn't realize you do it to that extent. Maybe you can't stop yourself. Maybe youu don't know that it hurts them.

You have no idea how an appology feels until one is given to you that you really need. Even bullies have feelings.

Clothe-A-Child

It's purpose is to provide new clothing to deserving children who might not otherwise receive the needed wardrobe. The program is conducted annually on a Saturday in October.

Volunteers are an essential part of this exciting program. Please take a moment and see how you might help, and be fulfilled, in giving your time to a child in need.

Don't feel bad if you need their help to clothe your babies, mommas. They need it like you need their love. Its noting to be asamed of. More people use the program than you think.

Here is a story of a mother or two who had two sons that grew like weeds who needed winter clothes for them that fit and were in great shape. Her sister helped her sign up for the program to help her out. This program is sponssered by The Morning Journal and all $ donated goes to the CAC program to contribute to families in need during the winter/christmas season.

Maddy says she does not receive any child support for her sons and, unable to find a job, has to support them using government assistance. After all the bills and rent is paide, the wallet is pretty much dried up and unable to spend on rediculous things the rich use once then set it in the back of the garage for the rest of eternity. Not to mention that her foodstamps don't quite meet the requirements to feed their mouths all month long. (When are they ever??)  and her two sons have issues that could hardly eet what she calls the right care; asthmatic and ADHD.

Know Your Rights at School

The right of children with diabetes to care for their diabetes at school is based on the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA). These laws provide protection against discrimination for children with disabilities, including diabetes, in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. This includes all public schools and day care centers and those private schools and centers that receive federal funds.
There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the differences between a 504 and and Individualized Education Plan (IEP). To put it simply, a 504 plan is plan designed to deal with medical issues, such as diabetes, while an IEP is a plan designed to deal with educational challenges or special needs that need not be related to a medical treatment plan. A 504 would contain instructions, for example, for blood glucose monitoring, while an IEP would include instructions for additional reading education, should it be needed. Children with diabetes use a 504 plan for accommodations related to diabetes and need not have an IEP unless they have special academic needs.

According to this law, parents of qualifying children have the right to develop a Section 504 plan with their child's school. To qualify for protection under Section 504, a child must have a record of such impairment, or be regarded as having such impairment. Schools can lose federal funding if they do not comply with this law. Parents can use these laws to ensure that, while at school, their children with diabetes can fully participate in all school activities, while at the same time caring for their medical needs. This means that the school cannot: refuse to allow a child with a 504 to be on the honor roll, deny credit to a student whose absenteeism is related to diabetes, refuse to administer medication (a school cannot require parents to waive liability as a condition of giving medicine), and determine sports/extracurricular participation without regard to the student's diabetes. Any school that receives Federal funding must comply with IDEA and Section 504 laws. A child need not require special education to be protected. This law prohibits all schools and day care centers, except those run by religious organizations, from discriminating against children with disabilities, including diabetes. Protection under is this law is the same as that for Section 504. IDEA mandates the federal government to provides funding to education agencies, state and local, to provide free and appropriate education to qualifying students with disabilities. This includes children who have diabetes. As with the other two laws, you must show that diabetes can, at times, adversely affect educational performance. The school is then required to develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to accommodate your child's needs. Some states have enacted additional legislation to protect children with disabilities. Contact your state legislature for further information.

What this Means

Any educational facility, school or daycare center, which receives federal funding cannot discriminate in the admission, educational process, or treatment of a student who has diabetes. Provided that the presence of diabetes has been disclosed and verified, and that the student/parents have requested reasonable accommodations, the educational facility is required by law to make the approved modifications which allow the child with diabetes to fully participate and benefit from all school activities and programs.
The student/parents are not required to assume responsibility for the provision of needed accommodations. However, the school can refuse to grant a request for an accommodation that is not specifically documented. School personnel do not have the right to confidential medical information. They need only to know what needs to be done to guarantee equal opportunity for the student. Any individual member of school staff who fails to comply with the approved medical and education plan can be held personally liable.

What to include in a 504 Plan

1. Medication procedures and dosages (e.g. insulin administration prior to meals, etc.) You will want to note if your child is capable of deciding that amount to be given or provide an alternative such as calling a parent or using a chart to determine amount to be given.
2. Blood glucose testing procedures (when where, etc.). The school does have the right to not allow blood glucose testing in the classroom. However, if you can demonstrate that this procedure will not endanger others (i.e., materials will be disposed of at home and not at school), your school may allow the child to check in a secure area in the classroom.
3. Procedures for treatment of hyper and hypoglycemia.
4. Precautions to be taken before physical activity.
5. Guidelines for meals, snack, special treats, and parties.
6. Contact information for medical assistance (as needed) and parents.

What to include in an IEP

1. The need for repeat of information. Sometimes, if a child has had an insulin reaction or extremely high blood sugar, that child may not be able to concentrate and need additional assistance.
2. The child with diabetes may need to be allowed to take make-up tests if that student has had an insulin reaction or severe hyperglycemia during an exam.
3. Flexibility in attendance requirements in case of health-related absences including physician visits (e.g., allowing students to be on honor roll and qualify for awards, etc).
4. Permission to leave class to use restroom as needed.
5. Provision of adequate time for taking medication, checking blood sugars, and completing meals and snacks.
6. Access to increased fluid intake as needed

Bullying 1

Your child may be at risk in your school and you'll never know until you find their body or read the note saying why. Your child may not tell you, but you might feel there's something wrong; just can't put your finger on it. Is the coach being too hard? Is my child having study issues? Maybe they didn't make the team they tried out for: cheerleading, football, basketball, wrestling, etc. Whatever. Your kid needs you more than you know. You wake them up, get them around, feed them breakfast, send/take them to school, tell them you love them, and do your own things whle they proceed their education. The kid may or may not believe you when you tell them you love them, because of the bullying; it's usually a problem when somethings been said to the parent(s) , but there's nothing they feel they could do to stop it; they've told their parent(s) but the parent only said "If you fight back, they'll stop." or "That's not my problem". Those are the kind of words that make them feel thrown to the wolves by the very ones they love.

There's many types of bullying: Cyber, empty hallway, sexual herassment, school bus, bus stop, etc.



Cyber bullying is when the chld gets hate mail through the internet or the act of bullying happening to them is broadcasted on the internet for all to see. This could make the child paranoid to who might have seen it. When they see it, they might believe that everyone has seen it. The hate mail could be the hate mail from other students or random people they may or may not have talked to online. Most times one ca n send you email by seeing your name in a Yahoo! chat room and just add @yahoo.com to their name. If you hve more than one yahoo name with that account you could designate one for your email that you might not use, which might only be given to those they trust.

Bus stop bullying is when the children who wait for the bus are being picked on or beaten or pushed around. If this is the case, and you as the parent(s) cannot wait with them  to assure them safety until the bus arrives, but after that, the parent hasn't any more authority on the bus than the student. A bully will see where one door closes, another one will open. The front of the bus is usually the safest place so the driver could have a better chance of catching the bully. The back is   a better chance to bully another student. Especially if the bus is seated to grade.



Sexual bullying is when a student is bullied because of their sexuality. The child may be straight, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, etc. Whatever. Sexuality is not something that should be guilty about, any more than the girls should feel guilty about getting together for face masking at a sleep over. No matter the gender, they get picked on. You as a parent may or may not know their chosen sexuality. You might know and never say a word until they come out "of the closet". You as the parent(s) are an important facter in whether the child comes out or not. If you're okay with your childs sexuality, then let them know. Express it subtley if you are too afraid to bring the conversation up.
Many Christian religions are ...not so understanding. The express it genuinely how much of a sin it is. There are other religions that do not mind ANY chosen sexuality such as : Paganism, Neopaganism, Greek pathways, Roman pathways, Celtic pathways, Egyptian ways, Norse ways.

Not all gods restrict their love to just one gender. Love is love after all.
Writing things on their lockers or on the inside of their locker for them to find. Your child may be straight, but that doesn't stop the bully from embarrassing them with those words. False accusations of sexuality are dangerous until the one getting bullied commits suicide, know what I mean?

Empty hallway is as it says it is. The child is found in an empty hallway with their bully, who uses it to their advantage.
Help your child understand that there's something that can be done about the way they're being treated.  It's not okay to be talked down to by your fellow students (or coworkers, boss, teachers, school princeble, partner, parent[s]), or anyone else. There are consequencest for this treatment and death is one of them. The  one being bullied could commit suicide or the bully could end up killing the one their bullying. The one being bullied could end up a bully themself in the future- whether they're still in school or not. It could effect the way they act at home or towards their partner or their employees and so on and so forth.
